Holiday Eating and Planning.
Just the sound of that sounds ominous, doesn't it?
It doesn't have to. Your holiday eating and planning can be just like any other day where you're going out to eat with friends or your boss takes you out as a thank you for a job well done.
MODERATION is the key, just remember that.
Allow yourself a bite or two (or maybe even three!) of something you wouldn't normally eat if you want it badly enough. At the end of the day, as long as you don't eat everything in sight, whatever weight you may have gained overnight or over a three day period will come back off, I promise. Don't treat the weight gain as though it's permanently back on, because it is NOT!
Also remember that what shows on the scale today reflects what you ate two to three days ago.
And STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE if you are inclined to let it govern how much of a success YOU feel about YOU and what you're doing. Once a week or once a cycle is plenty.
What do I do for the holidays? I generally eat a salad and/or some hardboiled eggs to fill me up a bit before going to a party or gathering so I'm not so inclined to overeat.
Most importantly: Be kind to yourself. Don't beat yourself up if you overeat -- get back on track once the holidays are over or in between those holiday get togethers. Weight gain, temporaary, is not the end of the world!
